I bought three XBLA games during the
Xbox LIVE Holiday Deal program also
mentioned by Major Nelson. In addition to the
Deal of the Week there was a deal every day of December. I wasn't even able to buy anything DLC or through a code before (my old account being incorrectly set to USA), so now that they got cheaper it was a good time to finally buy some XBLA games.
Shadow Complex (
800/1200 points)
The only game I played so far. I didn't see the attraction before, but since it's been getting such good reviews I quickly tried the demo and it was fun. I figured I'd probably like the full game as well. It turns out I'm actually enjoying it quite a lot.
The Maw (
400/800 points)
I understand the game is good (the demo seemed to be), just a little short, but paying half the usual price should offset that.
Castle Crashers (
560/1200 points)
Again lots of good reviews, and I actually played the demo for this when it came out.
I also got some free, celebratory
2010 Glasses for my Avatar and a free
New Years Theme.
Out of curiosity I checked the deals with my USA account as well as with my new NL account. Besides the differences in rentable videos, I noticed the USA deals showed things like "More than half of", whereas the NL versions more precisely stated "53% off".
Good to hear another positive comment on a game I just bought though. :)
Just played the demo for Shadow Complex and really enjoyed it; would have bought it but I didn't have any points at the time!
Since I only just started using MSPs, I had to look up the 300 for the three "The Maw" DLC levels. (Because they are called "Deleted Scenes", at first I didn't even realise they are additional levels.) It's only €3.50, so I guess I'll follow your advice. :) Thanks.
