Monday the 20th I was pretty unlucky with encounters and both characters dropped a bunch of money. L30 Retodon8 explored L27 Peltoid Valley. 83k zm. 95 cards. L32 Denroot explored L30 Peltoid Valley. 146k zm. 104 cards.
Tuesday the 21st L30 Retodon8 explored L27 Peltoid Valley. 106k zm. 96 cards. L32 Denroot explored L30 Peltoid Valley. 166k zm. 105 cards. Lots of TMPs today, and I should have retrieved more money but for some reason didn't.
Wednesday the 20th I didn't feel like playing, so I wasted my APs instead.
Thursday the 23rd L30 Retodon8 explored L27 Peltoid Valley. 128k zm. 97 cards. L32 Denroot explored L30 Peltoid Valley. 194k zm. 107cards.
Friday the 24th I found out I can't get my high level gear back. :(
Quests were added to the game a while ago, so I decided to try one out. (Actually there were already group quests I never tried out, but those are now called adventures instead.) I'll try not to spoil the stories too much.
Retodon8 activated the very first, level 5 "A Most AWESOME!!! Quest" and travelled to Port Foozle to see what it was all about. Basically he needed to head to the White Cliffs in search of "the shirt of AWESOME!!!". This terrain was 19 levels below his own, meaning a walk in the park. He did have to explore some other low level areas before he ended up victoriously with an 8k zm reward. Quests definitely add a little flavour to the game, but from a gameplay perspective don't complicate things a whole lot. I did have to manually change the low level exploring to the highest level the terrain's range allows to a little more money. Also characters can only have one quest active at the same time. I activated a second one and only realized nothing was happening because the first one was deactivated because of that a while later. The game really should be clearer about things like this.
After his success, Retodon8 activated "The Case of the Missing... Pooky?", and turned Frostham into his base. He's off to the Flathead Mountains next time, having used almost 90 Action Points today. He ended up with 161k zm and 100 cards.
Denroot pretty much repeated the ordeal, although she didn't have any of the random quest-related encounters, whereas Retodon8 had several. These encounters really aren't, they show some quest-related text that actually put Retodon8 on the wrong track once (text telling you to go North doesn't mean going to a different area apparently), yield no rewards, but still cost 1 AP. Anyway, Denroot was done with the first quest much quicker; she used about 25 APs.
She activated "The Case of the Missing... Pooky?", travelled to Frostham, and started exploring the Flathead Mountains a short while later. Almost 60 APs later still nothing, but finally with 2 APs left some progress. Into the Dark Forest next time. 228k zm and 110 cards in Denroot's collection.
